Actually, such popularity of the 40s fashion is probably caused by it’s unique style, which combines both glamour and elegance.
In fact, the fashion became more free at the decade. As a fact, women started wearing shorter skirts. The lenght of the classical 40′s skirt was quite long comparing with today’s standarts, but it was a real novelty at that period.
